Caves are obviously an important part of the Minecraft world. But spelunking can get boring after a while. If all caves are starting to blend together for you, then it may be time to switch your style up by installing the Wild Caves Mod for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5.
The Wild Caves Mod changes the way caves generate. It doesn’t completely overhaul the caving system – like some mods – but it does change caves just enough to make them interesting again.
Wild Caves adds the following unique features to the game:
-Falling stalagmites can damage enemies below (you can create some cool monster traps)
-New water features
-New cave vegetation, like mushrooms
-Players get goldstone dust when destroying glowing mushrooms or ice mushrooms
-Stalagmites and stalactites can both be generated (stalagmites can only be generated underneath stalactites)
-Spider webs will generate in caves
-Bone piles
-Skeleton skulls and monster heads will spawn on dungeon chests
-There are dozens of cave additions for each different biome. Cold biomes have icicles, and jungle biomes have vines, for example.
