Minecart: Players can use Minecarts to transport themselves along rails. Mobs can also be transported using Minecarts. To craft a Minecart, place three iron ingots along the bottom row of a 3×3 crafting window while placing two iron ingots on either side of the second row of the crafting window.
Powered Minecart: To craft a Powered Minecart, players need to combine a furnace and a mine cart in the crafting window. Place one ingredient on top of the other. Powered Minecarts can push other mine carts along rails. They require fuel (coal) in order to run.
Storage Minecart: Players can transport goods along rail lines by using a Storage Minecart. Simply place a mine cart in the bottom row of a crafting window then place a chest on top of the cart in the second row.
Rails: Mine carts require rails in order to get around the map. Mine carts can only go wherever rails lead, so players should place their rails carefully. To craft 16 rails, place 3 iron ingots along the left and right side of the crafting window (6 iron ingots in total), then place a stick in the middle of the crafting window.
Powered Rail: When your mine cart needs to speed up or slow down, you’ll want to use powered rails. To craft a powered rail, place 3 gold ingots along either side of a 3×3 crafting window (6 gold ingots in total), then place a stick in the center and a piece of Redstone Dust along the bottom of the window.
Detector Rail: Detector Rails will send signals when a cart passes by, much like a pressure plate sends signals when a character walks over it. To craft a detector rail, place 3 iron ingots along either side of a 3×3 crafting window (6 iron ingots in total), then place a stone pressure plate at the center of the crafting window and a piece of Redstone Dust at the very bottom.
Boat: Instead of swimming through water, players can use boats to get around more quickly. To craft a boat, simply place three wooden planks at the bottom of a 3×3 crafting window, then place 2 more wooden planks on the left and right sides of the middle row.
