Exploring Minecraftia is one of the most enjoyable parts of Minecraft. The randomly-generated worlds are always filled with new surprises, and I’m constantly discovering things I’ve never seen before in-game.
Thanks to Minecraft mods, you can add even more cool things to your Minecraft world, including underground ruins. Minecraft has plenty of cool places to explore, but there are few things as cool as the ruins in the Floating Ruins Mod.
The Floating Ruins Mod adds a number of creative floating ruins to your Minecraft world. Those ruins change from biome to biome and can be spotted hovering above your ground throughout the Minecraft world.
Some of the ruins are truly spectacular, especially ruins where water cascades down onto the ground below. Once you make your way up to the ruins, you’ll find that the shape of the ruins, the material, and the mob spawners are all biome-based.
One of the coolest parts about the Floating Ruins Mod is that the ruins look like they’ve been literally plucked out of the ground. In the desert biome, floating ruins may have a shallow pit of water lying underneath, while floating ruins located above mountains will have a cavernous hole underneath.
The ruins are not particular deep or detailed. However, they do add a considerable amount of variation to your Minecraft landscape and give the game an entirely new fantasy-like feel. If you’ve ever wanted to wander beneath islands in the sky and explore caves from hundreds of feet in the air, then the Floating Ruins Mod is worth an install.
