It should be no secret by now that I am a fan of KGold’s minigame maps. This time, the popular endless running smartphone game Temple Run has been translated to the world of Minecraft.
For those who are not familiar with the endless running genre, it is a simple yet addictive format in which players must run away from some entity, dodging obstacles, collecting power-ups, and accruing points.
Temple Run takes place in a jungle. The player must run over wooden bridges and stone pathways, dodging obstacles as simple as raised blocks:
To hazards as dangerous as huge gaps leading into the depths of the jungle below:
Convenient signs along the way will provide the player with a visual reference as to how well they are doing:
This may seem simple enough, except for one small detail – once the player steps through the starting gate, they will begin running and cannot stop. There are no enemies chasing the player in this map, but falling or hitting an obstacle will cause them to fail.
As was the case with the original game, this map is quite simple. It probably will not be updated any time soon, but it is nonetheless a fun vacation away from the standard Minecraft experience.
