Tea Time Mod for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5

By default, Minecraft doesn’t offer much in the way of beverage options.  Milk, water, and funky looking potions – not all that appealing.  User Turtle Crafting of Planetminecraft has come to the rescue with Tea Time!

This mod, as the name suggests, adds one vital element to the game: tea.  Players can create tea cups out of clay (placed the same as iron is when making a bucket).  The cups must then be fired in a furnace, just as they would need to be in real life.  Afterwards players may collect water in the same fashion as they would with a bucket.  This water can be boiled by once again putting the cup into the furnace.

Here’s where it gets interesting – multiple kinds of tea can be made, each with a different benefit.  Each tea is made with three pieces of paper on the bottom, a key ingredient in the middle, a pile of leaves on either side, and a string at the top.  The key ingredient can be either green dye (from a cactus), red dye, or sugar cane.

  • Green dye creates Cactus Green Tea bags, which provides poison resistance for half of a minute when consumed.

  • Red dye creates Rose Red Tea bags, which staves off hunger for a minute – meaning that the player cannot become any more hungry, but if they were hungry to begin with they would still lose life.

  • Sugar cane creates Sugary Tea bags, healing the drinker by two hearts.  A great alternative to healing potions.

The bags of course must be crafted again with the boiled water to actually make the tea.  A fourth ingredient, cocoa, may be crafted with the boiled water to create hot cocoa.  This refills all hearts and fills the hunger meter instantly.  As a final benefit, drinking any of the tea made by this mod grants the player the Gentleman IV enchantment for the duration of the tea’s consumption.
