Players can automatically fly in creative mode. But that flying isn’t very realistic. You don’t even have wings on your back!
Obviously, you can’t fly at all in survival mode. But thanks to the Survival Wings Mod, you can! The Survival Wings Mod lets players fly around in survival mode like they would in creative mode.
To fly, players simply craft wings. Wings are placed in the chest equipment slot and offer minimal protection, but grant the ability to fly. So don’t get into any fights while wearing the wings because you won’t be able to take much damage. Of course, you have the added benefit of just being able to fly away from confrontation, so fighting shouldn’t really be an issue.
The wings can also be modified and improved. There are obsidian wings, for example, which have higher durability but move more slowly.
You can also “glue” wings with Netherwart to create a slightly less durable set of wings that fly at a normal speed. In the recipe window, surround the wings with four ender eyes to increase the speed dramatically at the cost of durability.
This mod is probably considered a form of cheating. But if you’ve always wanted to see what your survival world looks like from high in the air, then the Survival Wings mod can give you a new perspective.
