Simply Jetpacks for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5

In a recent study, ten out of ten sheared sheep agree that jetpacks are awesome.  Simply Jetpacks by tonius11 provides Minecraft players with a way to take to the skies in style (and without cheating).  It is a companion mod for the Thermal Expansion mod and requires it to run properly.

The jetpacks in this mod are powered by Thermal Expansion’s redstone flux system.  They are worn like body armor, and come in five different levels: leadstone, hardened, redstone, resonant, and a mysterious jetpack that has been programmed in but not announced.  Lower level jetpacks can be used to craft the next level up in place of body armor.  Here is a sample recipe for the lowest level jetpack:

A little complicated, but jetpacks are awesome, so it’s worth it.  Controlling the jetpack is very easy and intuitive however:

  • F key toggles the jetpack on/off;

  • Holding the jump key activates the thrusters;

  • C key turns hover mode on or off, which allows players to very slowly fall.

Each subsequent jetpack is more powerful and more efficient.  Leadstone, for example, has a capacity of 25,000 RF, while the resonant jetpack can hold 10,000,000 RF.  This translates to about twenty full minutes of uninterrupted flight!

The last two levels of jetpacks also have an added perk of even slower descent while hovering.
