Particle-in-a-Box Mod for Minecraft 1.7.2

Jt9 has become one of my favorite modders.  Particle-in-a-Box is one of the latest mods in this user’s impressive lineup.  This is a purely aesthetic mod that adds an array of box objects to the game.  These boxes can – as you might expect – emit various types of particles.  Take for example the heart box:

By default they will continuously emit these particles, and can be turned OFF with redstone.

The boxes are simple to craft.  First you must start out with the basic box, which does not actually emit any particles:

From there, one of sixteen particle boxes can be crafted by combining them with another item.  The list of boxes and their combination item are:

  • Musical Note – Noteblock

  • Fish Splash – Raw Fish

  • Slime – Slimeball

  • Critical Strike – Arrow

  • Enchanted Critical Strike – Wooden Sword

  • Portal – Obsidian

  • Lava – Lava Bucket

  • Explosion – TNT

  • Heart – Poppy

  • Flame – Netherrack

  • Splash – Water Bucket

  • Redstone – Redstone Dust

  • Mycelium – Mushroom

  • Smoke – Fire Charge

  • Snow – Snowball

  • Emerald – Emerald

What I like most about this mod is that while it is aesthetic, it is also accessible in survival mode without cheating.  The recipes are balanced and nothing complicated is required to acquire these particle boxes.
