OzosCraft Texture Pack for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5

Imagine you’re looking over an ocean side port city in Minecraft to see a stunning array of lights and vibrant colors. In this beautiful port city are colorful villagers bearing large derpy smiles that make you a little creeped out and just different from the rest, a butcher with blood on his apron, and a blacksmith working hard on that new diamond sword on his anvil, and their children playing about near the sandy coastline with many of their friends. On the coastline you will find a variety of games, shops, ports, and docks that add to a feeling you can’t particularly put your finger on, but it makes you feel very comfortable and at home.

If you’re anything like me and saw this city through my eyes, you may be wondering, ‘What is this amazing texture pack?!’ This texture pack is the work of none other than the artist of one my personal favorite texture packs, Ozo, on planetminecraft.com. This is the Ozocraft texture pack. This artist has taken great lengths to ensure that when you experience this texture pack for the first time you will be amazed and want to use it forever.

The blocks in this texture pack look more than good; they look absolutely gorgeous! The artist, Ozo, actually makes the blocks look like how they should, compared to the hyper realistic texture packs that look just taken right of a photograph and put on a block. The stone bricks look like stone bricks! The grass looks like grass! The best part of it all, is not that the stone bricks look like stone bricks, but how it doesn’t look like Real stone bricks. They look blocky and cartoony, just the way I like it. Not to mention that the artist got it just right at a 32×32 texture pack. Not too HD, not too low-res. It’s a perfect example of what looks beautiful in Minecraft.

If you think the blocks look good in this texture pack, you might want to take a look at the mobs as well. The creepers are looking a dark, leafy, green as usual but now there is a sort of spiral of light green that goes down the side of it’s body. Skeletons, or as I would call them in this texture pack, stone head shooters, look a little bit darker gray, especially on the head. Hence the name stone head shooters. Spiders look like they’ve been injected with some kind of radioactive green dye because they have live green spots that look menacing in the dark. If you think that’s scary the zombies look like they’ve also got a quench of thirst for blood. Blood is dripping from their bodies and their eyes are possessed by the magical endermen. Speaking of endermen, they have gotten a little darker. Not only that but the eyes are a deep, dark, purple that give a you a feeling like you’re being hunted in the dark,

Once you make it to the hellish world of the Nether, take a look at the native gruesome zombie pigmen. Skin rips from their porky, burnt flesh revealing a dark red bloody scab. That is why they are my favorite mob in the texture pack. If you go exploring for long enough, or are lucky enough to spawn right by one, a nether fortress guards the race of mobs known as the blaze. Normally in any other texture pack I’ve seen the blaze have faces. Not in this texture pack. They are literally a squares and rods of fire that float about and safeguard the fortress. It takes a twist on what we traditionally see in Minecraft. The magma cubes look cool floating around in the lava pools below. Wither skeletons also look darker when compared to the rest of the world. It is not that surprising though considering they were designed to wither you away to dust and bone. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were working with Death himself to kill you.

Once you escape and make your way up to the surface in the overworld you might return to your animal farms and give them a good feeding. You might notice the bright pink pings staring at you with wide eyes. It’s a little bit creepy and you might get to the point where you want to kill them. It’s one of my only complaints about this texture pack. Other mobs such as the wooly white sheep look normal and have a skin pink head surrounded by wool and normal eyes but not the pig. Cows look normal as well and have brown fur with white spots.

The armor in this texture pack look gorgeous as well and completes this texture pack for me. With the unobtainable chain mail armor you can look like a knight or a Crusade on an adventure around the world. The chain mail armor has a white cross that looks like it’s from ancient times from when the great civilizations of the Romans and Greeks were around. If you can’t afford the expensive armors such as iron, diamond, or gold/butter as some would call it, you could always kill a few dozen cows and craft yourself a pair of your favorite pieces of leather armor. Leather armor looks just as good as the others so you don’t have to feel left out if you’re not as fortunate and can’t afford the fancy armors. Suppose you were expensive and could afford just a basic set of iron armor you would wear it as a sign of beauty. This armor is absolutely gorgeous! The other armors follow the same pattern all the way up to diamond.

Weapons and tools all have their place. If they don’t look as good, then you might not want to use them. That is why the tools and weapons all look beautiful, whether it be the bright iron shovel or the glimmering diamond pickaxe, a lighter, or a compass to find your way around.  They all look wonderful.
