Ore Spiders for Minecraft 1.7.10

Ore Spiders mod aims to make your survival gameplay more interesting and more challenging without ruining the vanilla minecraft feel.

Created by username Bendonnelly1, Ore Spiders is a mod that adds various types of spiders in the game, all related to various ores and theme.

The new spiders added on this mod are not just a spider re-skin. As each spider has some specific skills that are relevant to the ore they are born with.

As the author states, this mod is not aimed to make a ground-baking overhaul of minecraft mechanics, instead, its only goal is to add new and interesting mobs into the world to make survival cave exploring and dungeon crawling more challenging and unpredictable.

The ore spiders will have a texture, special effect and statistics that are based on their ore. On top of that, these mobs will also spawn near their ore and are more commonly seen on caves.

In addition to all of the added spiders, there is also a Queen Spider which is currently a work in progress and won’t spawn naturally but only through creative. Unlike normal mobs, the queen spider regenerates its health while time passes.

Currently, this mod adds the following spiders that spawn naturally in Minecraft. 2 of them are very deadly.

Obsidian Spider – a fire immune spider that has a high health, high damage and can resist knockback but a lot slower that regular spider. It also causes a wither effect making it almost the deadliest of them all.

Diamond Spider – A faster version of your regular spider. Its attacks may also inflict nausea making it very deadly in groups. But it may drop diamonds.

There is also a bonus spider that is not ore-based. Ender Spider has a high health and high damage with the same speed as your Endermen.

You can find the full list of the spiders here.
