No Cubes is a unique mod that breaks minecraft into two – literally. This mod replaces the blocky minecraft landscape and turn it into something unexplainable, horrifying, and down right non-lore friendly. I’m not making a lot of sense? Well, this mod turns the game closer to reality by making the terrain a LOT more realistic.

What a horrifyingly beautiful thing to do, and Click_Me has done it.

Featuring a new engine to support a more smooth gameplay, No cubes breaks the traditional minecraft feel and immersion by changing the block terrain formation and transforming it to a more smooth and rounded look. This makes the traditional squarish caves into tube/ circle like what they are in real life. Mountains and hills would also look more mountain-y. Even the Nether is affected with this mod.

With this mod installed, it is possible to see circles in Minecraft (Crazy right?). As I have observed, only natural terrain blocks are affected (i.e. sand, dirt, grass, stone, gravel, netherrack, ores, and a few others), crafted blocks like plank, dispensers, and cobblestones display as they should, making most of your houses safe from this unspeakably evil phenomenon.

The mod also features a UI that allows it to be disabled completely at will without uninstalling the mod.

Since this is a client-side mod that doesn’t add new content and is only for aesthetic, you can use it freely on Multiplayer servers without causing server-side issues.

As of the moment, No Cubes is extremely on an experimental state. However, version 1.7.10 is still completely usable.

If you want a more stable build, No Cubes for 1.7.2 should be fairly stable – but bugs are still to be expected.

Overall, despite how crazy this mod makes the game, It is actually a well-done mod and the author is incredibly amazing at it. Taking the cubes of minecraft terrain is downright weird, but when you get used to it, you’ll find it hard to turn back to the old squarish world.
