Allow me to begin by stating simply: this texture pack WILL impress you. With every other visionary making nothing more than a simple recoloring of their favorite textures, some subtle Photoshop manipulations, or simply badly done original textures, it’s refreshing to find some truly unique and polished texture packs such as those I have been reviewing recently.
PlanetMinecraft user Nephco presents us with her incredible texture pack, NephCO Laboratories: Biological Textures.
The most striking thing about this texture pack right from the start is the level of realism:
Look like a photograph? Unsurprisingly, it is: Nephco used photographs for many of these textures. Others were hand drawn, painted, and edited.
Some of my favorite new textures in this pack are the bookshelves and enchanting table:
Along with some seriously impressive looking cows:
Some of the textures in this pack are also animated, which is something I haven’t seen done well in a long time. I am seriously impressed by the work of Nephco and hope to see her continue this project. Download the pack and take a look at it for yourself!
