Minecraft’s unique graphics and physics engine can be charming at times, but annoying at others. One of the times when I really notice Minecraft’s limited physics engine is when players attack mobs. You swing your weapon at a mob, the mob flashes red, bounces back, and continues attacking while showing no visible signs of damage.
Meanwhile, in the real world, when you swing your sword at an enemy, the enemy could lose a hand, a leg, or even a head. Thanks to the Mob Dismemberment mod for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5, hacking apart enemies is now a real possibility.
This appropriately-named mod gives players the ability to hack apart four of the game’s most common mobs, including:
-Zombies (dismemberment effects include blood)
These mobs will steadily lose limbs as players continue to attack. For a realistic demonstration of what that looks like, check out this brief video below:
As seen in that video, mobs can also be dismembered by more than just swords. Mobs that fall from large heights, for example, will plummet to the earth and be dismembered. And if players cause mobs to explode, you can bet that their limbs will be flying everywhere.
In any case, the Mob Dismemberment mod makes hacking apart enemies much more satisfying than ever before. Check it out today by following the installation instructions below.
