Millenaire 1.6 is one of the most popular Minecraft mods on the internet today. It aims to fill the emptiness of single-player worlds by adding a plethora of NPC villages. These NPC villages are populated with people and feature a variety of architectural and cultural styles.
You don’t have to wander far in the Millenaire world before the changes become obvious. Every NPC village is populated with men, women, and children, and each of these NPCs has its own unique job. Some NPCs will trade with the player, while others will spend their time farming crops or crafting new tools.
In Millenaire 1.6, villages also grow over time. It’s almost like the Sims in that NPCs will form couples, have children, and grow up over time.
The player even has a role in deciding which villages grow and which ones decline. Trading with villages will lead to various rewards for that village, and NPCs will even start to recognize you over time. Eventually, if you build up enough of a reputation in the village, the NPCs will even allow you to build a house of your own.
Villages come in a number of different styles. There are Japanese villages, complete with rice farmers and rice paddies. There are also Norman villages, Mayan villages, and North Indian villages. Quest designers have even hinted that there is a massive Pantheon to be found somewhere in the world.
Each village also comes with its own culture. For example, Mayan villages have authentic Mayan pyramids surrounded by jungle. And Norman villages feature original artwork, tools, and armor.
Oh, and if you want to create a new village, all you have to do is point your wand at a bare patch of ground. Then, a village can pop up. To find a village, just press ‘V’, and you’ll see a list of all nearby villages.
Each village also has its own unique goods available for trade. You can trade for Indian food from the Indian villages, for example, or purchase an Indian statue. A lot of thought and effort has gone into the trading system, and users are encouraged to explore their options.
In short, Millenaire is one of Minecraft’s coolest mods. If you’ve ever felt that the world was under-populated, or that it needed a few new characters to make it interesting, then Millenaire is the mod for you.
