Manual Pickup Universal Mod for Minecraft 1.6.4

The title says it all.  Why didn’t Notch think of this?  This mod by Chronothan of Minecraftforum.net allows players to selectively pick up items instead of just gathering everything automatically.  It comes with a few interesting options that make it even more useful than it already is as well.

By default, the mod simply disables the automatic pickup function and requires players to press F to gather items.  The key for this can be changed in the controls configuration menu.  Pressing the key will gather all nearby items like normal.

Also by default, the player will automatically pick up items that already have an unfilled stack in the inventory.  This can be disabled in the manualPickup.cfg file that comes with the mod.

Editing this file also allows players to change the function of the “pick up” key (default F) – it will only pick up items near the player’s crosshair.  Tired of picking up a ton of dirt just to get that one piece of iron?  Problem solved!  Just change the individualPickup variable in manualPickup.cfg.
