JABBA, or Just Another Better Barrel Attempt, is a mod by user ProfMobius that is simple in concept yet adds two amazingly useful functions to the game. The first of these is the capability for mass storage with a few interesting features. The second is a new item called the dolly, which allows players to move storage items without breaking them.
In JABBA, the new storage item is called a barrel, despite looking more like a crate. These barrels are crafted rather easily:
It can then be placed like a normal chest. Barrels can only hold one type of item; this may seem like a limitation, but they can hold a much, much larger amount of that item than any normal chest could. At their default state, they can hold over 4,000 units.
Barrels have a number of interactions:
Right clicking on a barrel while holding an item will fill it with that item.
Right clicking on a barrel that has an item in it will remove all of its contents.
Double right clicking on a barrel while holding an item will fill it with all stacks of that item in one’s inventory.
Shift + left clicking on a barrel that has an item in it will remove one at a time.
Shift + right clicking on a barrel with no item selected will lock it.
Locking barrels is one of the more interesting features in the mod:
Doing this prevents any other type of item from being deposited into the barrel. This is especially useful considering that JABBA functions well with other mods that have automated systems to deposit items, as well as vanilla Minecraft’s hopper.
Barrels can be upgraded with capacity upgrades – as if over 4,000 units per container wasn’t enough!
There are five tiers of upgrades, and upgrading to a higher tier requires the previous to have already been applied. Applying an upgrade is easy; simply hold it and right-click on the barrel.
Finally, the sides of barrels can also be customized with barrel stickers, which are crafted with a slime ball in the center and a piece of paper in each of the four directions. Right clicking a barrel with a sticker equipped will cause that side to display its contents.
Despite the barrels being the main attraction in this mod, I personally love it for the dolly. Dollies are crafted with some basic materials:
This item can be used to move any storage item, with support for many mods, without losing or emptying its contents. Simply right click the container with the dolly equipped, then right click where you wish to place it. It will always be placed facing the player.

I have spent all of my time playing Minecraft wishing I could just transport a chest without my 54 blocks of cobblestone exploding out and filling my house. The dolly really is a lifesaver for me. What other features do you think could be useful for this mod? Leave your ideas in a comment below!
