Improving Minecraft Mod for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5

Many believe that vanilla Minecraft’s features recipes are not as consistent or logical as they could be.  User pifou92000 brings to us a mod that attempts to address all of these issues.

There are quite a few changes made to the game with this mod, so only a few of the more interesting ones will be listed here.  Be sure to check out the mod page and the mod itself for a complete explanation.

First off, a number of changes to mobs have been made:

  • Zombie children deal less damage than adult zombies

  • Slaying an animal with fire will cause them to drop cooked versions of their meat

  • Killing anything gives a chance to drop a skull

  • Killing other players gives a chance for their head to drop

  • Squids, sheep, and horses drop meat

  • Bats and wolves drop leather

In addition to this, hostile mobs may have special effects (such as Speed I, Regen I, etc.).

Second, a number of items are now craftable that previously were not:

im1 im1b im1c

A new set of items was added as well: the Titanium set.

Finally, several improvements that do not fit in any other category were made:

  • Dead bushes in the desert have a chance to drop anywhere from 2-5 sticks

  • Boats are more durable

  • Melon is more common

  • Music discs in chests are more diverse

  • More items are now stackable

  • Putting water in a cauldron causes it to be an infinite source of water

  • Burning arrows can start fires on flammable blocks

Now, I acknowledge that many aspects of this mod make the game easier – such as the ability to craft previously uncraftable items – however if difficulty is less important to you than interesting gameplay, this is definitely a mod to download.
