HUDWidgets for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5

Minecraft’s original HUD is simple and reasonably effective.  By default, health, hunger, and armor are visible to the player.  As the game grew, however, it quickly became evident that this was not enough.  Developer Silvania Studios of Planetminecraft has created a Forge mod that allows users to rearrange their HUD, change the look of each display, and edit what information appears on-screen!

HUDWidgets disables the default health, hunger, and armor displays.  These displays cannot be re-added while the mod is in use.  Users do however have the ability to add and customize a wide variety of elements, such as:

  • Armor

  • Compass

  • Experience

  • Game mode

  • Health

  • Horse’s health

  • Horse’s jump meter

  • Item hotkeys (not completely functional yet)

  • Hunger meter

  • Player name

  • Oxygen level

  • Time

  • Wallet

  • Potion Dock

Each item can be configured in the HUDWidgetsConfig.class file.  The textures, position, and display of each can be altered to fit the user’s liking.  Additionally, servers can use this mod and lock a display that players on the server are forced to use.

Upcoming changes to this mod include more widgets, more configuration, and the ability to change the HUD in-game, making it more accessible to those who are completely unfamiliar with coding.
