If you have multiple monitors, then Minecraft can be a frustrating game to play.
Switching back and forth between the game and your empty desktop causes the game to minimize itself, which isn’t disastrous, but it can be irritating. Sure, you could play the game in windowed mode at a lower resolution, but who wants to do that?
Unfortunately, vanilla Minecraft has no option to play in fullscreen windowed mode. That’s why I’m here to tell you about the Fullscreen Windowed Mod, which does exactly what you think it does.
Features of this mod include:
-Removes ugly borders and title bar when playing Minecraft in windowed mode
-No more reverting to default resolution when switching between windows
-Better performance when compared to vanilla fullscreen windowed mode
After installing this mod, you simply press Ctrl+F11 to activate windowed fullscreen mode. Best of all, this mod isn’t that hard to install. You just install it like any Forge mod. The mod’s creator, Shoukaseikyo, also updates the mod on a regular basis to make sure it works with the latest versions of the game.
Yes, you could run Minecraft in a bordered window on a somewhat full screen, but that can significantly impact in-game performance. Your graphics engine has to work harder to compress the video data into a screen that is slightly less than a full screen (about 10 to 12 pixels due to the border).
With the Fullscreen Windowed Mod, you don’t have to worry about that. Download it today if you have dual monitors or just like minimizing the game frequently.
