Created by the amazing mod writer AtomicStrker, this mod makes every light move with its light source allowing possibilities of hand held torches, and more.
With this mod installed, torches, redstone torches, glowstone, gold armor set, and any other object that releases light when placed on the ground will release a light when held in hand.
This also allows the items to release a light when thrown on the ground or is held by other players in multiplayer.
Gold armor set also gives off light when equipped.
Unlike normal minecraft light, dynamic light is very different. First, dynamic light will follow the light source everywhere whether it is held, as an item on the ground, or thrown mid-air. Dynamic light is not your regular minecraft light, hence, hostile mobs will still spawn even when the place is filled with dynamic lights. As dynamic lights is only aesthetic and does not, and will not, change the default minecraft gameplay.
Since it is only a client-side mod, Dynamic Lights mod can be used in multiplayer and it functions just the same without the need of server file installation. Although, only the player who used the mod can see the lights.
Performance wise, calculating dynamic light can strain the system, but due to several updates, dynamic light will now only require a minimum amount of resources which dramatically improves its performance.
This mod can also be toggled in game by pressing “L” by default. This automatically turns on or off the mod without the need of manually uninstalling the installing the mod.
The mod works best with shader packs installed, especially those that makes night time darker making handheld torches essential for survival.
Items that give off light can also be configured in the options – allowing players to add custom items or mod-added items to the list of those that give-off light.
