Dragon’s Radio Mod for Minecraft 1.7.10

Bored of Minecraft’s music?  Don’t have a good enough computer to play music in the background?  Want your server to be more awesome than everyone else’s?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, Dragon’s Radio Mod may be for you!

The idea of this mod is simple, yet genius.  It adds a new block to the game that allows you to listen to any internet radio station in-game.  The best part?  Other people can hear it too!

When a player right-clicks the block, the above dialog is displayed.  Its buttons are self explanatory for the most part (the little redstone icon allows you to browse the playlist).  Simply enter a URL for an MP3 stream with an m3u extension, press play, and enjoy!

As if this wasn’t awesome enough, you can also control this device with redstone.  Activating it with a strong signal will play the currently selected station.

Some examples for uses of this mod:

  • Listen to the radio with your friends while you work on an epic building project

  • Build a dance club

  • Host your own internet radio and use it to talk to / DJ for your Minecraft server

  • Change the ambient sound of an area on a whim

This mod is being regularly updated, so perhaps even more interesting features will be revealed in the future.  Stay tuned!

  • This is such a neat idea! I wish I had this mod back when my computer actually worked and ran MC without lag. I’ll have to try it when I get it fixed!

    • I’m not entirely sure, but I think you can have multiple radios too. So you could feasibly have a radio in each house in a small village tuned to an appropriate volume. I definitely need to explore this mod more.
