One of the most important parts of Minecraft is defending your home against scary creatures like Creepers.
Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of fun ways to defend your home in vanilla Minecraft, which is why someone decided to create the Defender Mod.
The Defender Mod lets players spawn various “defenders” to help guard their homes from “all the evil dangers of the night”. It also makes single player gameplay feel much less lonely.
Here are the features included in this mod:
-Players can spawn Defenders that look like their own player model, Steve
-Create Defenders by combining an Egg with Gold
-Defenders can be equipped with armor simply by tossing armor at their feet
-When you’re holding gold, defenders will follow you
-Defenders ignore creepers because they don’t want to lure them back to your house and inadvertently blow up your valuable stuff. Defenders will, however, attack every other hostile mob (except ghasts).
-Invaders will now periodically test your defenses and attack you and your Defenders.
-In addition to traditional Steve Defenders, players can also craft Archers using a Defender Spawn Egg and a bow. They look the same as regular Steve Defenders, but they’ll use their bow.
-Defenders will get hurt a lot while defending your home, so you can now give them Healing potions to stay safe.
This mod isn’t perfect but it is a lot of fun. One problem is that Invaders – which randomly spawn around your home – will sometimes spawn inside your house, which makes it frustrating to try to setup a defensive wall or system.
However, the mod’s creator, Beardielover, is committed to fixing bugs and make this mod the best it can be. If you want to give your home a defensive challenge and introduce new NPC friends to your singleplayer world, then this mod is one of the best ways to do that.
