The right texture pack will totally transform Minecraft’s graphics. David’s Detailed Texture Pack is a 64×64 texture pack that has been totally hand-drawn. It transforms the appearance of Minecraft and makes the game look and feel more medieval.
The goal of David’s Detailed Texture Pack is to add a medieval or fantasy appearance to Minecraft. To do that, David has added a number of colorful textures that are “easy on the eye”, as David himself says.
While the world looks more colorful and medieval, the mobs also look scarier. Water looks fantastic and simple things – like dirt blocks and grass blocks – have also been noticeably improved.
As with any texture pack, the best way to learn about David’s Detailed Texture Pack is to look at pictures or videos of it running in-game. As you can see from the screenshots posted on this page, Minecraft takes on a unique fantasy feel after installing this texture pack. Each biome has a new appearance and mobs look better than ever before.
Since each texture has been drawn by hand, exploring the world of David’s Detailed Texture Pack is an awesome experience. From the leaves on the trees to the grass and mushrooms, this may be my favorite new texture pack.
Even better, this texture pack features regular updates (every Saturday), which means that new content is constantly being added to the game. Those who donate at least $1 to the texture pack’s creator also receive VIP 24/7 access to David’s Dropbox folder, where they can download the latest updates and textures as soon as they are complete.
The first version of this texture pack was released over a year ago and David has consistently updated his texture pack every week since then – which is rare in the Minecraft modding community.
This is a 64×64 texture pack, which means that most average PCs today will be able to run it smoothly. However, if your rig barely runs vanilla Minecraft, then installing a 64×64 texture pack probably isn’t a great idea. To install David’s Detailed Texture Pack today, follow the instructions below.
