Vanilla Minecraft lets players breed animals to create new animals. But not everybody wants to take the time and effort to create an animal breeding center. That’s why one modder decided to make a Craftable Animals Mod that lets you craft animals like you would craft any other item.
One of the most startling parts of this mod is that it adds over 63,840 items to the game. It also adds two blocks. Many of those 63,840 items are animal-related tools (like a minimizer which turns adult animals into baby animals), while others are created from the animals themselves.
How do you make animals? Here’s a sample of the types of animal recipes you can make with this mod:
All of the recipes shown above will create different types of wolves. Players can craft tamable wolves as well as angry wolves. You can create any creature in the game, including Villagers, 39 different horses, Endermen, Slimes, and more.
Here are some of the cool new items that have been added to the game through the Craftable Animals Mod:
-Animal Bow: The Animal Bow is a new bow that can be used to fire crafted animals a long distance away from you. You can also use the Animal Bow to hit existing animals. Let’s say you fire a wolf at a sheep. When your fired wolf hits the sheep, the sheep will turn into the wolf. To use the Animal Bow, you’ll need an arrow and an animal. You don’t need arrows in Creative Mode but you will need an animal.
-Empty Spawner: The Empty Spawner can be crafted and won’t spawn anything by default. To turn it into a working spawner, just right-click it using any animal. Then, that will turn it into a normal spawner that will continuously pump out the animal of your choice. This works with any type of animal in the game – even animals added through mods like the Mo Creatures mod. Interestingly enough, the spawner can also be used to spawn Ender Dragons, although Ender Dragons will destroy the spawner when they spawn.
-Minimizer: The Minimizer lets you turn animals into babies and adults. Just left click on any animal to turn it into a baby and right click to turn it into an adult. Some adults do not have baby versions, in which case nothing will happen when you left click.
-Ender Crystal: Right click with the Ender Crystal to place it. You can also use the Ender Crystal to remove existing Ender Crystals without causing an explosion. You can do this by simply left clicking an Ender Crystal while holding a crafted Ender Crystal
-Armored Zombies: One of the best parts about Craftable Animals is the Armored Zombies. You can create all sorts of different Armored Zombies with this mod, including Zombies with just a helmet or with head-to-toe plating. You place the armor on the zombies directly from the crafting grid. The majority of the 63,000+ items in this mod come from the Armored Zombies because there are 7 helmets, 6 chest plates, 6 pants, 6 boots, and 21 tools for a total of 31,752 possible combinations. There are also baby versions of each zombie, so multiply that by 2 to get the total number of zombie-related items.
Other cool items to craft include an Animal Display Case, Animal Souls (which lets you carry around all of the unique properties of a particular animal, place those properties in a display case, then recreate the animal at a future point), Animal Helmets, Mine Cart Animal Spawners, and so much more.
By the way, did I mention you can watch animals ride each other? Simply place a crafted animal on an existing animal to make the crafted animal ride the existing one like a horse. Better yet, these effects stack, which means you can make a tower of animals riding each other. You can also place animals in Mine Carts and boats.
