ComputerCraft Mod for Minecraft 1.6.4/1.7.2/1.7.4/1.7.5

You probably noticed that the Minecraft world does not include any computers. Well, that’s a problem that the ComputerCraft mod seeks to solve. ComputerCraft adds working computers to the game.

Those computers are not just there for aesthetic purposes. Each computer uses an operating system, file directory, and a bunch of pre-installed programs. Those programs include a text editor and a real-time Lua interpreter as well as two fully functional games.

Tech-savvy players can program these in-game computers to do whatever they want. But you don’t have to know complex programing languages in order to use these computers. Instead, the mod’s creators promise that the “easy-to-use Lua programming language” will allow players of all levels of expertise to use computers to their full potential.

So what kinds of cool things can you do with computers in ComputerCraft? Well, players can connect computers to redstone wiring and bundled cables in order to completely automate the world around them. There are even peripheral devices – like disk drives and wireless modems – that allow players to string dozens of computers together around their world.

Whether you want to add an extra-large monitor display to your home or you just want to print out pieces of paper in your Minecraft world, the ComputerCraft mod adds an essential working piece of technology to our favorite game.
