Clouds Pack Texture for Minecraft 1.8

This week we’re going to feature a resource pack that’s so simple that it changes only one thing, yet so refined that it generates a new Minecraft experience.

This week’s resource pack showcase is no other than Clouds Pack created by username Kyle178965.

As you may have already figured out, this resource pack changes only the vanilla sky box and replaces it with an extremely realistic picture of the sky that rotates and revolves 24 hours a day, every minecraft day.

You might think that having an extremely realistic sky is a bit of a deal breaker in the world of minecraft but you are absolutely wrong as it looks absolutely delightful even on the blocky low resolution texture of the world.

The Sky box also changes color according to your time of day (i.e. sunset) and is compatible with all kinds of resource packs.

It also has a cool night time texture with highly vivid stars that dot the entire view of the night time sky.

This resource pack can be placed on top of any other resource packs and replaces their sky texture as well. This also works great with shader packs including the ones that add realistic skies like the famous “Sonic Ether’s Unbelievable Shaders”.

The best part about this resource pack is that it causes no lag on any client as the resolution used on the textures are the same as that of the vanilla minecraft.

Although this resource pack uses vanilla-based resolution, it is recommended to use Optifine or MC Patcher on your Minecraft as they provide full support for high definition and high resolution texture packs that vanilla doesn’t and mainly for the option to disable the clouds completely.

The clouds you see are part of the sky box texture, therefore it is highly advice to disable cloud particles completely to achieve the best results and set your view to at least normal distance in order to see the textures.
