Minecraft 1.7 gave developers the ability to easily add new animations to the game. Ever since that update, some of the community’s top developers have been releasing texture pack updates that improve everything from water animations to mob animations.
This is obviously a good thing for the Minecraft community. Today, we’re covering something called the Blocksmith Hybrid Texture Pack, which adds a number of new moving parts to the Minecraft world.
Many of these moving parts can be found on textures and objects that previously did not have moving parts. Some ore blocks, for example, will now sparkle when you look at them, giving off a cool effect.
In total, the Blocksmith Hybrid Texture Pack adds over 100 new animations to the game. And more animations should be added in the near future. The texture pack’s creator, Blocksmithed, says that:
“The goal of this pack is to animate everything within reason…and add detail where the defaults didn’t have enough pixels like the tools on the crafting bench and lines in glass.”
So where does the ‘hybrid’ name come from? Hybrid refers to the fact that Blocksmith mixes and matches different resolutions. Resolutions have been changed in accordance with the need of the animation. In some instances, animations have a lower resolution in order to make them stay smooth. In other cases, animations have safely been bumped up to a higher resolution without negatively impacting performance.
Here are some of the examples of new in-game animations:
If you want to make your Minecraft world feel more living and breathing than ever before, then I recommend installing the Blocksmith Hybrid Texture Pack. It’s filled with new animations and the creator updates the pack regularly.
