Despite its overwhelming success, Minecraft is distinctly lacking in one thing: physics. It is perhaps this lack of physics that makes it so charming in many cases. BlingBall, a Bukkit plugin by SethBling, adds a fully interactive ball to the game that bounces off of just about everything.
These balls use the game’s Slime model, and are spawned by typing the command /ball. Striking the ball with anything – including arrows – causes them to bounce away with a speed and direction relevant to the source of the strike. Right-clicking on the ball will also send it up into the air.
Though these two mechanics are simple, this plugin provides the possibility for various activities in Minecraft. SethBling has developed a map, known as BlingHoops, using this plugin. It is similar to basketball and supports up to four teams. Check out BlingHoops here.
Finally, if there are simply too many balls bouncing around, they can be cleared by simply typing /clearballs. If nothing else, this plugin will provide some fun experimenting how it interacts with different objects, plugins, and mods.

How to Install BlingBall Plugin for Minecraft
Download the latest version of the BlingBall plugin.
Place the .zip file from step 1 into your server’s plugins directory.
Run the server and wait for it to fully load.
Restart your Minecraft server or login to your admin account and execute the /reload command.
Run the server again. The plugin should be properly loaded.
Theoretically, the physics for the ball in this plugin should work with just about any other mod available. Can you think of another plugin or mod that would produce interesting effects when combined with BlingBall? Let us know in the comments below!
