It’s time to put those fishing rods to better use! SethBling’s Grappling Hook Bukkit plugin turns any ordinary fishing rod into a versatile tool to scale buildings and mountains effortlessly.
To throw the grappling hook, simply right-click as if you were fishing. The line will be cast into the distance. As long as it lands on top of a block, it will slide to the edge of the block and latch on. At this point, the player can right click to release the hook, or begin climbing.
Climbing is performed by holding the shift key. Holding space will give the player more height during the ascent, so if there is a lip or some obstacle in the way it can be avoided by beginning the climb with some distance.
This grappling hook also functions as a way to safely descend from high areas. Simply hook onto the edge of a block as normal and drop down. Press shift to briefly slow your descent, preventing all fall damage!
