Sure, the trees in Minecraft look pretty cool – especially in jungle biomes. But how cool would it be if the trees were significantly larger on all biomes? Enter the BigTrees Mod, which creates lots of new tree types across all biomes.
When you walk around a biome after installing the BigTrees Mod, it doesn’t take long to find the reason this mod was created: big trees are everywhere in Minecraft’s forests. Some trees are a single block wide but dozens of blocks tall, while other trees have trunks that are several blocks across.
New tree types include:
To make the mod even more ‘realistic’, the BigTrees Mod doesn’t completely remove small trees from the game. When walking around a forest, you’ll see an appropriate mixture of small trees and gigantic trees, just like in real life.
The gigantic trees start off big but they become even larger at the canopy level, where sprawling leaves can nearly protect an entire forest floor from the light of the sun. And instead of just populating forest and jungle biomes with impressive trees, the mod also adds unique large trees to desert biomes and other environments.
It’s the little details that make this mod above average. If you dig into the ground beside a tree, you’ll have to dig deep in order to find the base of the tree. Roots extend deep into the ground in order to provide valuable structural support for the tree. And if you find a cave beneath a tree, don’t be surprised if you see roots poking through the ceiling.
What’s the fun of a tree mod if you can’t plant a tree yourself? Surround your home with a massive army of Thick Oaks and create an impenetrable, all-natural defensive system.
The creator of this mod recommends combining it with the Better World Generation 4 Mod in order to create some unbelievable environments. If you want your forests to feel more towering and impressive than ever before, then the BigTrees Mod is the mod you’re looking for.
