Farming in Minecraft can be a lot of hard work – kind of like farming in real life. Fortunately, a new mod called Automatic Wheat Farmer aims to make Minecraft farming significantly easier by simplifying the wheat growing and haresting process.
With this mod, players can press a single button to tell the game to automatically plant wheat and then press another button to automatically harvest wheat.
Check out the short 15 second video below which explains the two most basic features of the mod:
Basically, the mod takes most of the work out of the wheat farming process. As long as you have earth in which the plant the wheat, you’ll be able to quickly plant and harvest a large field. This is useful because it saves time, but also because players don’t have to worry about accidentally digging through their field when they’re simply trying to cut the wheat during the harvest.
Players access the automation menu simply by pressing P. You still need to have seeds in your item bar, and harvesting will only work if planting is enabled (that feature was added to prevent griefing). After pressing ‘P’ and enabling planting seeds are automatically planted into nearby farmland.
With a simple GUI, the Automatic Wheat Farmer mod wants to take all of the hard work out of Minecraft’s farming system – and that’s certainly not a bad thing.
