Travelling in Minecraft is a common topic for modders to address. User 71Droog71 brings to us another alternative to horses and minecarts: All Terrain Vehicles!
These ATVs come in three tiers so far, each represented by a different color – gray, yellow, and blue, in order:
The only difference in gameplay between tiers is the speed of the vehicle. Different tiers are reached by using a different engine for the ATV. Tier three, for example, requires an engine crafted out of diamonds:
Wheels, a seat, and handlebars are also required to craft the final item. Wheels are made by surrounding an iron ingot with coal; seats are made by placing a row of leather on top of a row of wood (not planks); and handlebars are crafted with four pieces of iron in a T shape. Two seats and two wheels are needed for an ATV.
When all of the parts are gathered, they can be combined at a crafting table in this formation:
ATVs are placed on the ground by right-clicking, and can be mounted by right-clicking them once again. Controls are the same as walking, except that A and D do nothing. Unmounting the vehicle is the same as with a horse or minecraft (left shift by default).
