Nuclear energy is the most powerful force in our world today. It provides power for millions of people around the world and is fuelling the rise of revolutionary new technologies.
Minecraft players can now access this awesome force thanks to a mod called the Atomic Science Mod. With this mod, players can create fission reactors, fusion reactors, and thorium power in order to fuel their power-hungry in-game contraptions.
Atomic power functions in a similar way to electricity. You can use it to power your Minecraft factories and industrial machines and any other redstone devices that you use.
To use nuclear power, simply place one uranium rod into a fission reactor. This will create a large amount of steam. As this steam gets processed through a turbine, it will produce a large amount of power.
Turbines absorb steam coming from below and use a motor to generate current. Thick wires are recommended in order to manage the high voltage of the machine. Players can also add a siren to their factory to be warned if anything is going wrong during the process.
The Atomic Science Mod features a bit of a learning curve, especially since the mod’s official website and forum thread are low in information. Fortunately, there are a few good instructional videos that show players how to get the most out of the mod. I’ve included one such video below:
if you’ve grown bored with electrical power and redstone, then this mod allows you to spice things up in a major way with nuclear energy.
