There are all sorts of Minecraft map and compass mods available. But Antique Atlas is easily one of the most unique map mods available for Minecraft.
Antique Atlas generates an antique-looking Atlas of your explored areas of the world. The map resembles something seen in Lord of the Rings books, with hand-drawn mountains, hills, rivers, and flatlands. It’s all available from a simple in-game GUI, making it a useful and aesthetically-pleasing tool for your Minecraft world.
The map automatically generates as you explore more of your world. It also includes icons for villages and documents all visited locations. The more you explore, the larger your map gets.
You can navigate your antique map by dragging it around or by using the WASD keys on your keyboard. All maps can also be exported out of the game in .PNG format. To do that, just open your in-game Atlas and click the button in the bottom right corner.
This map can easily be installed via Forge. It’s amazing how much of a difference a simple map can make in your game, but the Antique Atlas Mod does an excellent job of giving Minecraft a more fantasy-like appearance. If you want to feel like you’re exploring Middle Earth or the fantasy world of your choice, then the Antique Atlas Mod is a perfect option for your needs.
